The food that we eat can either make us fat or thin. In fact food is as powerful or more powerful then any diet pill. You don’t get fat because you don’t exercise enough you get fat because you don’t eat the right foods at the right times of the day. The idiots’ diet is about eating in the right patterns each day when your body needs the fuel. Your body is like an engine and it only needs certain fuels at certain times. If you don’t have the right fuels (foods) at the time your engine (body) needs the fuel, the fuel does not get used and they get stored which becomes fat.

 The idiots’ diet uses calories shifting to help with weight loss. The calorie shifting theory in the idiots diet is the idea of changing the amounts of calories you intake every day, this way your body doesn’t get adjusted to the same amount every day. The metabolism will keep burning fats, because if you keep your calorie intake the same everyday your body expects the same amount of calories and it starts storing those calories as fat. By eating different amounts of calories each day it keeps the metabolism working at its best.

 Calorie shifting is a good way to keep you metabolic rate high, this is done in the idiots’ diet by alternating the order in which you take in your calories or meals. In stead of actually cutting back on intake like most people think dieting is all about, but when you reduce your calorie intake the body’s metabolism slows down and starts to store fat because the body thinks it is starving. By shifting your calorie intake but maintaining the same amount of calories you can solve the basic problem.

 The idiot’s diet is called that because it is so easy to follow. You follow the plan for 11 days and then you get a few days to cheat a little and then back to the 11 day plan.

One of the first steps to losing stomach fat is to stop adding more fat unto your belly. The problem is that we are unconsciously adding inches to our waste lines without realizing it. Although exercise is a whole other topic, I want to focus on 3 important dietary changes you need to make to help you take those first steps to losing stomach fat.

1. Avoid Foods That Are High In Saturated Fat
Most supermarket foods these days are very high in saturated fat. Snack foods like biscuits, crackers and crisps are very high in these “bad fats”. Another “offspring” is trans-fats which is the worse kind of fat there is. Avoid this at all costs and start making it a habit to look at food labels.

2. Foods That Are High In Preservatives And Additives
Preservatives and additives are in virtually every food you can buy today. They either extend the shelf life or they enhance the flavor and appeal of foods. The problem is that your body cannot digest these chemicals and the way your body deals with it is to “wrap” it in fat and store it away.

3. Foods That Lack Nutrition
We all need proper nutrition to maintain a healthy body. Your body has a natural process for getting rid of stomach fat and other excess fat deposits. The problem is that without proper nutrients and vitamins your body cannot do it’s job. Try and eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. This in itself can take you a long way towards getting rid of that excess stomach fat.
